Academic Vocabulary and E-Portfolios

Academic Vocabulary

Instruction - The Kate Kinsella Method

Presented by Lynn Juve

Do you ever find that the students can’t seem to retain new vocabulary?  Do you find that they do not know how to use a word correctly in their writing?  Do they have problems using different forms of a word that you have taught? This method will solve many of these problems. It was developed by Kate Kinsella, Phd.  She specializes in literacy and working with students who are learning English as a second language.

E-Portfolios

Presented by Hector Londono

The school has a new tool that has the potential of helping you know what your students are doing, what their achievements are, and will give you an idea of what is your students’ potential.
During this workshop you learn how to access the portfolios and will see a few samples of student work already published. As a teacher, you will get an idea of how the portfolios will help you with your students.
